UC Foundation

The University Club Foundation was founded in 1991 for the purpose of preserving and maintaining the historic portions of the University Club building in the public interest. This includes providing historic information about the Club to the public online, providing public access to the Club periodically, and collaborating with architectural, historic and academic organizations within Portland to showcase the historic nature of the building.

The University Club's elegant clubhouse was built in 1913 on the corner of Jefferson Street and Southwest Sixth Avenue. The clubhouse was designated as a National Historic Place by the United States Department of the Interior in 1979 and as a Portland Historical Landmark by the Portland Historical Landmarks Commission in 1970. The history and heritage of the University Club of Portland clubhouse is and continues to be an important asset for the Portland community.
