The University Club of Portland’s Residence programs were established, starting in 2004, to enrich the University Club membership experience and to
provide an opportunity to Northwest creators to reach new audiences. Such
programs are rare in private clubs across the country. Club members have the unique opportunity to enjoy these creator's work at the Club and to engage in enrichment and educational
programs with the artist.
In addition to enriching the membership
experience, the Residence programs enhance the collections of the
University Club for present members and future generations.
The Residency programs each feature an Artist-, Author-, Archivist-, and Musician-in-Residence. is open to these professionals living in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Proximity to Portland is essential
for active commitment to the Residency.
Selections will be recommended by their respective committees and are approved by the Board of Directors, on the
basis of portfolio submission, creator statement, and personal presentations.
