Founded in 1898, the University Club of Portland has had a grounded Portland ethos, as characterized by our historical Clubhouse, since its beginning. Members of the University Club are a part of a diverse community of professionals of all ages and backgrounds. We're not a one size fits all, but a place where each member can curate their experience day-to-day. Perhaps you’d begin your day with a café au lait in our serene library; Bring a client to our Wednesday wine tastings; Host a productive luncheon in an exceptional meeting room; Or break out your tux and cocktail attire for our Member favorite, Boxing Night! Welcome to the largest wine selection you’ll ever need. Whether you’re purchasing a bottle from our cellar or ordering wholesale for your personal use, our in-house Sommelier and Food & Beverage Director Josh Wilcox is available to assist you in your selection. Not sure where to start, attend our weekly wine tastings, monthly wine-pairing dinners, or extend your palette with our quarterly hand-selected wine cases.

Clubs Within Your Club

The University Club is owned by the members, and as a result, many of our events and Affinity Groups are steered by Member interests. These Affinity Groups span a broad spectrum: Organized hikes exploring the outdoors; Curated book lovers; Card playing groups like pitch and bridge; and Toastmasters. We have a Portland running group, as well as a dedicated group focused on de-stigmatizing the cannabis industry. These clubs within our Club allow Members to connect with each other based on interests, social change, and expanding experiences.

The club offers an array of private rooms suitable for any occasion, professional or social. Consider using our rooms for your next meeting, interview, or to enjoy a cocktail party amongst friends. The Club provides a perfect backdrop for a professional event space to meet your companies needs. Our Special Events Manager is here to assist you when you're ready.

Membership Tours

Membership Tours are encouraged to fully envision your future at the University Club and to learn all of the opportunities waiting for you within the Club walls. Tours are also a great chance to ask questions, connect with potential Member sponsors & visualize how you will get the most value from the amenities we offer!

Tours are available on Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am & 8:00 pm.
