The Purpose Behind the Effort:
Diversity & Inclusion at the University Club 

The journey to diversity, equity and inclusion has been long and arduous.  Over time, our Club has evolved to become more representative of our community as we have worked to promote and encourage diversity among our membership.  Our Club is home to and welcomes a blended collective of Members, including but not limited to: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous & People of Color) members, women members, LGBTQ members, members of all ethnicities and members of many different faiths.  In 2018, the University Club of Portland formalized our efforts by founding the Diversity & Inclusion Committee. This Committee and its group of volunteers continue to be valuable assets in the continued work of opening our doors as an inclusive space in the heart of Portland.

The University Club is excited about the progress made so far, and in what we look to accomplish in the future in the spirit of continuing our mission of inclusivity.
