"Investing in the Intellectual Capital of Oregon"
Over a century ago, an informal group of 11 Yale University graduates formed the University Club of Portland. Today, the Club's roster includes alumni from over 400 colleges and universities throughout the United States and abroad. Members are recognized leaders in their professions and, like their predecessors, many are dedicated to their communities. Over the last 100 years, University Club members have been involved in philanthropic activities and have founded or served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations.
This tradition of individual public service led to the formation of the University Club Foundation in 1991. One of the Foundation's missions is to help support promising graduate students.
In 2004, the Foundation added another mission: to foster preservation of historically and/or architecturally significant buildings and other structures.
