The Club's illustrious Membership roster continues to embrace distinguished members of society and business, including professionals from the public and private sectors, business owners, nationally acclaimed authors, entertainers, university presidents and professors, government ambassadors and historians.
Becoming a Member
Membership in the Club is by invitation, meaning that all prospective Members must be sponsored by current Club Members.
Nomination Procedure
The primary sponsor of a prospective member is responsible for completing and submitting all nomination paperwork, including the Nominee Profile and letters or recommendation.
Each candidate for Membership must be backed by two Sponsors and two References. Each must be Club Members.
Please note: Only one sponsor can be a coworker of the nominee, however both references may be. The only exception to this rule is in academic settings, in which only one sponsor may be from the same School or Department as the nominee. Spouses of members and widow (surviving spouse) members may not serve as sponsors or references. Non-resident members may not serve as primary sponsors, but may be secondary sponsors or references.
Letters of recommendation from primary and secondary sponsors must accompany the Nominee Profile. The two references are not required to submit letters. They will be contacted by the Membership Committee for a verbal discussion about the Nominee. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Contact Membership Services to request a nomination form.
The Process
Depending on the date a Nominee Profile is received, the nomination and election process can take between one and two months. The Membership Committee meets on the third Monday of each month, at which time they review all new requests for application and advance acceptable ones to the Board of Directors. If the Board deems the nomination acceptable, the entire Membership of the Club is invited to submit comments. At their next monthly meeting, the Membership Committee votes on whether or not to advance a candidate to the Board for election, taking Member comments into careful consideration. The Board then votes on whether or not to accept the candidates advanced into Club Membership.
Notification
New members and their sponsors are notified of election or non-acceptance by letter.
